From the Author’s Introduction
Truth, Justice and the American Way
Most of us who grew up in mainstream America were taught that it is “One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all”. But growing up here has been a very different experience for the Indigenous Peoples of this land. Justice continues to remain illusive—like a carrot dangled in front of a horse.
The “truth” is that the “American way” has not been one of “justice” for the American Indian.
Part 1 The Historic Landscape of America: explores matters of God’s justice as it relates to the founding of the United States of America and the dispossessing of the Native Americans. Including a survey of the larger picture, going beyond American history to the roots of Colonialism and views Western Civilization in the light of Biblical prophecy
Part 2 Signs of the Times: explores some possible historic and current “Signs of the times” for the readers consideration.
Part 3 Blessed are the Peacemakers: proposes a path of peacemaking that is congruent with the Gospel and offers practical examples of how we can cooperate with God to see reconciliation and restoration.
Part 4 The Prophetic Landscape of America: makes an attempt to glance into the future landscape of America; taking into consideration examples from Scripture and the historic and present signs.
